A "slow learner or struggling learner" is not a diagnostic category, it is a term people use to describe a student who has the ability to learn necessary academic skills, but at rate and depth在效率和深度上 below average same age peers一般的同龄人. In order to grasp new concepts, a slow learner needs more time, more repetition, and often more resources from teachers to be successful. Reasoning skills推理能力 are typically delayed, which makes new concepts difficult to learn. A slow learner has traditionally been identified as anyone with a Full Scale IQ one standard deviation标准偏差 below the mean平均值 but not as low as two standard deviations below the mean. If a cognitive assessment (IQ test) has a mean (average) of 100, we expect most students will fall within one standard deviation of 100. That means that most students have an IQ of 85 to 115. Those who fall two standard deviations below the mean are often identified as having an Intellectual Disability (IQ below 70). A slow learner does not meet criteria for an Intellectual Disability(also called mental retardation). However, she learns slower than average students and will need additional help to succeed.

stomach flu: Many people talk about the "stomach flu" when they're feeling sick to their stomachs. It isn't the same as influenza, or the flu. Stomach flu is an illness called gastroenteritis肠胃炎 (say: gas-tro-en-tuh-rye-tus), which is usually caused by a virus. Someone who gets gastroenteritis might have stomach cramps痉挛, nausea恶心 (say: naw-zee-uh), throwing up, and diarrhea (say: dye-uh-ree-uh). He or she will probably feel pretty sick for a day or 2 but will then get better. There is no vaccine or cure(incurable) for gastroenteritis. If you have it, you'll want to rest until you feel better. If you're throwing up, don't eat solid food. Instead, sip fluids喝一些流食, such as water, or chew on bits of ice. Your mom or dad also might give you an oral rehydration solution (say: or-ul ree-hye-dray-shun suh-loo-shun). That's a fancy name for those special fruit-flavored drinks and Popsicles冰棒 that contain carbohydrates and electrolytes电解质 - stuff your body can get low on when you're dehydrated from diarrhea or throwing up. Once you stop throwing up, drink more clear foods and drinks such as warm chicken broth, popsicles, and gelatin. When you start to feel better, try eating bland清淡的 foods like toast, pretzels椒盐卷饼 or crackers薄脆饼干, bananas, and plain noodles. As your digestive system returns to normal, you can gradually go back to eating what you usually do. Gastroenteritis is contagious (say: kun-tay-jus), which means that someone who has it can spread it to other people. That's why it's important to wash your hands, especially before you eat and after going pee or poop大小便后. If you don't wash up after using the bathroom, you might end up spending a lot more time in there - with a case of stomach flu! Gross!

A fire marshal, in the United States and Canada, is often a member of a fire department but may be part of a building department or a separate department altogether. Fire marshals' duties vary but usually include fire code enforcement and/or investigating fires for origin and cause. Fire marshals may be sworn law-enforcement officers and are often experienced firefighters. A fire marshal's duties vary by location. Fire marshals may carry a weapon, wear a badge, and make arrests pertaining to arson and related offenses, or, in other localities, may have duties entirely separate from law enforcement, including building- and fire-code-related inspections. In many states and provinces, the fire marshal is responsible for enforcing laws concerning flammable materials.

Reports: Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon Marry

Mariah Carey, 38, married her boyfriend of one month, 27-year-old actor Nick Cannon, on Wednesday, according to reports. Carey obtained a marriage license结婚证 on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera. Meanwhile, Henrietta White, who works for the island's Eleuthera Florist花商花农, told E! News: "My son did the flowers for the wedding."

"They have been smitten with(smite v. [be smitten]be strongly attracted to someone or something深深地迷恋) each other for days, weeks," a friend told the Post. "And she's always had a crush on him." A source told the Post there was no prenuptial(existing or occurring before marriage结婚前的 prenuptial pregnancy未婚先孕) agreement(婚前协议).

According to Latina magazine, which broke the story, the couple tied the knot in a small ceremony.

And the buzz(谣言闲话) on the blogs was that the marriage is a publicity stunt(作秀, 博宣传). Carey's latest album, "E=MC2," dropped April 15, and Cannon appears as her lover in her upcoming video for "Bye Bye." "E=MC2" is currently on the top of the charts, and Cannon has at least four movies due out this year.

Despite Carey being 11 years his senior(年长11岁), a source close to Cannon told FOXNews.com's Pop Tarts column that they "make a good match(十分相配 match/marriage made in heaven天作之合 a perfect combination of two people or things a marriage made in heaven They needed a Spanish teacher as badly as Hayes needed a job, so you could say it was a match made in heaven. )." "I can't confirm any wedding rumors," our insider said. "But I'm not denying it either."

Another insider close to the Carey clan thought the rumored nuptials would be "unlikely" as Mariah is "very protective of her funds" and wouldn't have gone through with the process without a
prenuptial agreement. "To my knowledge据我所知 this hasn't been arranged(这不是作秀), but who knows," the insider said

Carey wed record mogul Tommy Mottola in an extravagant wedding in 1993. They had a bitter divorce in 1998. Last Saturday, Carey was seen sporting a huge diamond ring on her finger at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of her movie, "Tennessee," in which she plays a waitress. Cannon was at her side at the party. Speculation swirled消息开始甚嚣尘上 that the couple were engaged.

Carey's friend told The Post. "And it could work out说不准会美满呢 — some people know each other for five years and get divorced. Maybe this is true, instant love."

Ebanks' rep confirmed to media outlets Thursday that the model returned the ring to Cannon. Famed jeweler Jacob & Co. was quick反应迅速 to publicize宣传 its own role in the reputed(号称的, 被认为的) union with a press release touting招徕兜售 the ring Cannon reportedly gave Carey. The release described it as "crafted from platinum and features a square emerald绿宝石 cut fancy light pink diamond as the center stone surrounded by 58 intense pink深粉红 diamonds and two half moon diamonds on each side. "The total carat weight of the ring — center stone is 10 carats — is a jaw-dropping让人跌破眼镜的 17 carats with a value of $2.5 million."

The Federal Government has announced it will proceed with继续做 controversial plans to censor the internet after Government-commissioned政府委托委任的 trials found filtering a blacklist of banned sites was accurate and would not slow down the internet. But critics, including the online users' lobby group Electronic Frontiers Australia and the Greens communications spokesman Scott Ludlam, said the trial results were not surprising and the policy was still fundamentally flawed从根本上就错了. The Communications Minister, Stephen Conroy, said today he would introduce legislation just before next year's elections to force ISPs to block a blacklist of "refused classification(被拒绝的分类)" (RC) websites for all Australian internet users.

Senator Conroy also released results from a pilot trial of ISP-level internet filters, conducted by Enex Testlab, which he said found that blocking banned material "can be done with 100 per cent accuracy and negligible impact可忽略不计的影响 on internet speed". "Most Australians acknowledge that there is some internet material which is not acceptable in any civilised society," He said about 15 western countries had encouraged or enforced internet filtering, and there was no reason why Australians should not have similar protection. An earlier version of the Government's top-secret list of banned sites was leaked on to the web in March, revealing the scope of the filtering过滤的范围 could extend significantly beyond child porn. About half of the sites on the list were not related to child porn and included a slew of online poker sites, YouTube links, regular gay and straight porn sites, Wikipedia entries, euthanasia安乐死 sites, websites of fringe religions边缘的宗教([attrib.]not part of the mainstream; unconventional, peripheral, or extreme非主流的, 边缘的, 非传统的, 极端的 fringe theatre末流戏院) such as satanic sites, fetish sites, Christian sites, the website of a tour operator(a travel agent specializing in package holidays) and even a Queensland dentist. Similarly同样的, Senator Ludlam said: "Nobody said that filtering from a static list of URLs was going to slow things down too much unless the list gets huge, so I don't think they've already proven anything that we don't already know." The pilot trial report also noted that motivated people could circumvent(回避 overcome (a problem or difficulty), typically in a clever and surreptitious way克服(尤指暗中智取) terrorists found the airport checks easy to circumvent恐怖分子发现机场的安检很容易混过去) any internet filters with ease, which Senator Ludlam and Jacobs said called the effectiveness of the proposal into question(call into question something让人对...起疑 (slightly formal) also call something into question to cause doubt about something The study calls into question how long the vaccine gives protection.).

One of Australia's top communications experts says the Government's internet censorship trials were designed to succeed(设计测试的时候就没有打算失败, 因为设计的很简单) from the outset(从一开始), presented no new information and are now being used by the Government to further its political agenda. Separately, a report into the scope of content that will be caught up in the net filters concluded that the Government's policy might lead to a wide range of innocuous(not harmful or offensive无害的, 无意冒犯的, 不会招致反对的 it was an innocuous question那是个无恶意的问题, Even innocuous substances can sometimes register a positive result in a drug test即使无害的物质在药物测试中有时也会呈阳性) material disappearing from Australians' computer screens. Commentators in Australia and overseas have interpreted Senator Conroy's policy as pushing the country towards being like repressive((especially of a social or political system) inhibiting or restraining the freedom of a person or group of people(尤指社会体制或政体)压制自由的) regimes such as and Iran.

The report, which also questioned whether Australian children were in fact stumbling across (stumble across someone or something and stumble (up)on someone or something; stumble into someone or something偶然发现, 偶然遇见, 碰见 to find someone or something, usually by accident. I stumbled across an interesting book yesterday when I was shopping. Guess who I stumbled into at the library yesterday? Money, obviously, is a major stumbling block in any project of this size.) child porn and other nasty content while browsing, was kept secret for many months and was only made public after its existence was detailed in media reports.  "But so far there's no evidence put forward没有证据提出 that this will be effective in putting any serious dent in the availability of such content on the internet. It is clear that there are very strong political motives behind this."

An essay is usually a short piece of writing which is often written from an author's personal point of view. Essays can consist of a number of elements, including: literary criticism, political manifestos, learned arguments, observations of daily life, recollections, and reflections of the author. The definition of an essay is vague, overlapping with those of an article and a short story. Essays have become a major part of a formal education. Secondary students are taught structured essay formats to improve their writing skills, and essays are often used by universities in selecting applicants (see admissions essay) and, in the humanities and social sciences, as a way of assessing the performance of students during final exams. A dissertation or thesis is a document submitted in support of candidature for a degree or professional qualification presenting the author's research and findings. In some countries/universities, the word thesis or a cognate is used as part of a bachelor's or master's course, while dissertation is normally applied to a doctorate. The term "dissertation" can also mean, more in general, a treatise on some subject, without relation to obtaining an academic degree. The term "thesis" can also mean the central claim of an essay or similar work.

  • An airbag(安全气囊) is a vehicle safety device. It is an occupant(乘客) restraint(限制活动而保证安全) consisting of a flexible envelope气囊 designed to inflate rapidly in an automobile collision, to prevent vehicle occupants from striking interior objects such as the steering wheel or window. The auto industry and research and regulatory communities have moved away(改变想法) from their initial view of the airbag as a seat belt replacement, and the bags are now nominally designated as Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) or Supplemental Inflatable Restraints, these terms reflect the airbag system's nominal(名义上的 some firms charge only a nominal fee for the service有些公司只收取极少的服务费) role as a supplement to active restraints, i.e., seat belts.

A binder clip(那种稍大的夹子, 包括晾衣服的时候用于夹衣服的小夹子), or a banker's clip or foldback clip, is a simple device for binding sheets of paper together. It leaves the paper intact and can be removed quickly and easily unlike the staple(订书订, stapler是钉书机 A packet of staples. staple gun是钉枪 ). The term bulldog clip(大铁夹子, 原本是一种品牌, 以夹的特别紧而出名) is used in the United Kingdom to describe both this invention and an older device with the same function, which is stronger and has rigid rather than folding handles. 3. A clamp钳子 is a fastening device to hold or secure objects tightly together to prevent movement or separation through the application of inward pressure. In the United Kingdom and Australia, the term cramp is often used instead when the tool is for temporary use for positioning components during construction and woodworking; thus a G cramp or a sash cramp but a wheel clamp or a surgical clamp(手术钳).  4. A pincer(力集中于一点的那种钳子) is a hand tool used in many situations where a mechanical advantage is required to pinch, cut or pull an object. Pincers are first-class levers, but differ from pliers in that the concentration of force is either to a point, or to an edge perpendicular to the length of the tool. Toyota pulls 'incestuous, degrading' ad

CAR giant Toyota has pulled撤下 an advertisement slammed被猛烈抨击 as incestuous乱伦的, degrading and sexist. The winning entry in the Toyota-sponsored Clever Film Comp has been yanked from the event site after an online backlash against sexual jokes including a father saying his daughter "can take a good pounding".

Dubbed(被冠以) "abuser-generated content", the Toyota Yaris clip features a young woman's boyfriend and father sharing innuendo(含沙射影 I’m sure he thinks I stole the money—he kept making innuendoes about my “new-found-wealth”我确信他一定以为钱是我偷的,因为他不断含沙射影地说我"新近发了财") about her losing her virginity with promises to "have her on her back" and being "ready to blow".

Viewer Amanda McK posted that the "matey" agreement between father and boyfriend "has incestuous overtones(暗示, 弦外之音)".

But John Davis was a lone supporter. "I can't help but notice it's only women who are complaining here, nag nag nag(唠叨, 不断批评或挑剔)," he wrote.

"The changes are across the board(applying to all全面的, 适用于所有人的 It is very cold outside, you'd better come indoors across the board外面很冷, 你们所有人最好都进屋) and will help GPs in the city and the bush but it won't do anything to attract doctors into the bush nor support them better when they are there," he said. "We are slowly getting a recognition that there is an enormous problem with the health workforce out in rural Australia but we haven't really had a lot in specific rural initiatives(新举措) to get doctors out there. "We'll continue [to tell] the Government that there's a problem, we'll continue to tell them what the solutions are and hopefully one day they'll actually hear and do something about it."

Closed captioning is a term describing several systems developed to display text on a television or video screen to provide additional or interpretive information to viewers who wish to access it. Closed captions typically display a transcription of the audio portion of a program as it occurs (either verbatim[一字不差地, 一字不差的] or in edited form), sometimes including non-speech elements. The term "closed" in closed captioning indicates that not all viewers see the captions—only those who choose to decode or activate them. This distinguishes from "open captions" (sometimes called "burned-in" or "hardcoded" captions), which are visible to all viewers. Most of the world does not distinguish captions from subtitles. In the United States and Canada, these terms do have different meanings, however: "subtitles" assume the viewer can hear but cannot understand the language or accent, or the speech is not entirely clear, so they only transcribe dialogue and some on-screen text. "Captions" aim to describe to the hearing-impaired all significant audio content—spoken dialogue and non-speech information such as the identity of speakers and, occasionally, their manner of speaking—along with music or sound effects using words or symbols. The United Kingdom, Ireland, and most other countries do not distinguish between subtitles and closed captions, and use "subtitles" as the general termthe equivalent of "captioning" is usually referred to as "Subtitles for the hard of hearing听觉不灵的". Their presence is referenced on screen by notation which says "Subtitles" or previously "Subtitles 888" (the latter is in reference to the conventional teletext channel for captions).

Casual sex refers to certain types of sexual activity outside the context of a romantic relationship. The term is not always used consistently: some use it to refer to any extramarital sex, some use it to refer to sex in a casual relationship, whereas others reserve its use for one-time encounters stands, promiscuity, or to refer to sex in the absence of emotional attachment or love. A hookup (colloquial American English) is casual sex activity that could consist of manual stimulation, oral sex, or sexual intercourse. Some people, especially younger teenagers, use the term hookup to refer to physical intimacy that does not involve sexual activity. An extended hookup sometimes refers to prolonged instances of casual sex interactions. This is a situation in which the involved parties occasionally meet for casual sex multiple times, always without a long-term commitment. This is a casual relationship specifically for sex and without commitment. 使用距离: Sorry, I don't do hookups, we need to go on a date. A booty call is a telephone call, other communication, or visitation made with the sole intent of arranging a meeting for sexual acts with the person being contacted. It is associated with casual sex between people who have established a casual relationship, "friendship with benefits", or more serious relationship that involves sexual relations. It is not to be confused with phone sex. Friends with benefits (FWB) is an agreement between two people who are both friends and physically attracted to one another to have a sexual relationship. Neither party is considered committed to the other, and both can start dating someone else at any time with no prior warning. A friends with benefits arrangement is not considered dating, a relationship, or even casual dating by most people who use the term. Group sex(指一男多女, 或一女多男, orgy指多男多女的群交, ) is sexual behaviour involving more than three participants at the same time. The main focus of this page is group sex among humans, however group sex also occurs in other animal species - e.g. bighorn sheep and bonobos. Any and all sexual behaviour performed by at least four people can be a part of group sex, as well as a number of behaviors only possible with more than two people. Group sex involving one participant being penetrated by multiple people is sometimes termed a gang bang. In modern parlance(说法用语) an orgy may also refer to an event involving group sex. The difference between an orgy and a 3(+)-way (i.e. 4-way, 5-way, 6-way, etc) is that in a 3(+)-way there is one specific occurrence of sexual activity, that may be added onto but not split off into separate entities; if there are 2 or more specific focal points of sex the 3(+)-some becomes an orgy, or perhaps a co-ed circle jerk. Non-penetrative sex (also known as outercourse, dry sex, and dry humping) is sexual activity without vaginal, anal, or oral penetration, as opposed to penetrative aspects of intercourse, anal sex, or oral sex. The terms mutual masturbation and frottage(摩擦淫[指在人群中接触或摩擦别人穿着衣服的身体部位以取得性满足的行为]. Frot指penis-to-penis rubbing) are also used, but with slightly different emphases. NPS and outercourse are rather new terms, which is why such practices are sometimes still called "intercourse". The term "outercourse" is something of a misnomer, as it contrasts "outer" with "inter" but the "inter" in "intercourse" means "between two people". It does not describe being inside or outside of the body

Britney Spears' 'Womanizer' Clip Proved She Still Had It
'We just need to tell everybody that she's OK,' director Joseph Kahn says of the first video after Britney's rough patch.

By the time 2008 rolled around(流逝), Britney Spears had once again taken her rightful place as the pre-eminent卓越优秀的 princess of pop. There was no question about it: Britney was back and "Womanizer" confirmed it. After all, what better way to(还有什么更好的方式...?) show everyone you're back than to appear naked in a sauna?

The idea, however, like so many videos before, was all Britney's suggestion. "She pitched推销宣传 to me a very detailed idea of what she wanted to do," Kahn explained. "She wanted to dress up in costume, she wanted to follow her man to work, and she eventually wanted to show at the end that she is all three of those women."

" 'Womanizer,' for me, was a great experience on a personal level, because it completely verified that she was coming back," he continued. "By the time I worked with her on 'Womanizer,' you know, that was the Britney that I knew and it was a fun experience for me."

Kahn had to basically turn the video around overnight, and it was worth all the hard work — the video quickly became a fan favorite. "By the time it got out — and the beautiful thing好的一面 about the Internet is that you get instant reaction — the reaction seemed to be very positive. I'm going to sound like such a wuss(懦弱无用的人), but I think I cried," he said. "That sounds super lame, but come on, man — that's five days of some serious stress. And I had to end the video on her smiling, for sure. Like, we just need to tell everybody that she's OK."

With the release of Britney Spears: The Singles Collection, MTV News is looking back回顾 on the pop star's career through interviews with video directors, music-industry insiders and Spears herself, as she reflects on some of her greatest hits. Keep coming back for all things Britney, and let us know your favorite Brit songs, videos, memories and more in the comments below!

Toddler hit by ute(澳口 小卡车,小货车) in driveway

A toddler has been run over twice by a ute in the driveway of a house in Campbelltown, south-west of Sydney, this afternoon. "The tray of the ute apparently struck the boy who fell to the ground, then was run over by a wheel,’’ said a statement from NRMA CareFlight, which had a helicopter assist in taking the boy to hospital as part of the emergency response.

The boy is believed to have gone under the wheel a second time as the ute’s driver tried to respond to the initial incident.

The NRMA CareFlight helicopter landed at a primary school nearby the house in Richmond Avenue and took the 22-month-old boy to Westmead Children’s Hospital after initially stabilising him.

He arrived just after 4pm in a serious but stable condition. The boy has suffered abdominal, head and back injuries, but remained conscious throughout the ordeal.

Girl sexually assaulted after partyGEORGINA ROBINSON

A 17-year-old schoolgirl was sexually assaulted on her way home from an end-of-year party in Wollongong last night, say police.

The teen had been celebrating with other students at a restaurant, then went on to an after-party at a house in Berkeley. Police said she left there about 2am and began walking home alone along Whimbrel Avenue. Two men approached and pushed her over, then one of them sexually assaulted her while the other watched, police said. They ran away and the girl called police.

Her attackers are described as both being in their late teens and of Pacific Islander appearance. One was about 170 centimetres tall with a muscular build, police said. The other man was described as about 165 centimetres tall and obese, with short black hair.

Lake Illawarra crime manager Detective Chief Inspector Michael McLean cautioned women to be vigilant, especially at this time of year.

"Do not walk home alone, stick to major routes and use well-lit footpaths that are not closed in by bushes or other obstacles," he said.

Other safety tips from NSW Police:

  • Gately, of Irish boy band Boyzone, dies in Spain

As fans mourn the untimely(不是时候不合时宜的, 过早的 his untimely death in military action他在军事行动中的早亡) passing of Irish boy band star Stephen Gately, speculation continues to grow over what may have caused the 33-year-old's death.

Gately, the first Irish boy band star to "come out" during his stint(时期 A length of time spent in a particular way: a two-year stint in the military.) in the band Boyzone, was on vacation in Majorca, Spain, when he was found dead on the sofa at 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

Police were called to his house near Port d'Andratx Saturday afternoon and said there were no signs of suspicious circumstances but that "at the moment(此刻目前) it is not known how he died." Gerald Kean, an Irish lawyer and a friend of Gately's, spoke on behalf of the singer's family, telling reporters: "There's no foul play involved, and it's not suicide.

"There is nothing untoward(unexpected and inappropriate or inconvenient事与愿违的, 不合宜的, 不顺利的both tried to behave as if nothing untoward had happened双方都装作似乎什么不好事都没有发生过的样子 untoward jokes and racial remarks不合宜的玩笑和有关种族的评论). It's not drugs, we don't believe. It's not suicide, it's not murder, it's not a fight. That's what we've been told."

A source told the Independent newspaper, "All we know so far is that they had gone out the night before 'till late and had quite a few drinks and raised the alert when they found Stephen dead."

The British tabloid, The Daily Mirror, quoted a family friend saying, "The family have been told the most likely scenario is Stephen had a bit too much to drink, vomited in his sleep and choked. It was a terrible accident."

Gately's former band colleagues also expressed their grief on Gately's official Web site, saying he was "our friend and brother." "We have shared such wonderful times together over the years and were all looking forward to sharing many more," a statement said. "Stephen was a beautiful person in both body and spirit. He lit up our lives点亮我们的生命 and those of the many friends he had all over the world. Our love and sympathy go out to Andrew and Stephen's family. We love you and will miss you forever."

Boyzone scored six No. 1 hits during the 1990s, and Gately in particular won praise from many for "coming out" as gay at the age of 23. Gately was compelled to acknowledge his homosexuality publicly when a former member of the band's security detail threatened to sell his story to the tabloids.

On June 16, 1999, Gately gave an interview to Britain's The Sun newspaper, saying, "I'm gay and I'm in love." He described the decision to "come out" as "the hardest thing I have ever had to do but I owe it to our fans -- as well as myself -- to be completely honest."

"I know this may come as a bombshell to our followers. Many of them may be upset. I only hope they understand how important it is for me to reveal that I am gay." By doing so, Gately broke a taboo, and Boyzone's manager, Louis Walsh, said that if he had known about Gately's sexuality when he formed the band, he wouldn't have selected him, since "it wasn't cool then to have a gay guy in a band."

But the anticipated backlash from the band's mostly female fans did not materialize and after the band broke up, Gately enjoyed some success as a solo artist. His only solo album "New Beginning" made it to the U.K. Top 10 and produced three hit singles. He also starred in several musicals, including Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" in 2003-04.

Gately's Fans Pay Tribute to "Heavenly Voice天赐好声音" on Facebook. He and Boyzone's other members reunited in February 2008, selling out two concert tours. The band also released two new singles, with the video for one of the songs, "Better," showing two men embracing in a montage of romantic couples.

The video aroused some controversy, with a Northern Ireland Presbyterian minister, the Rev. David McCullough, saying it was "yet another subtle effort of the homosexual propaganda machine."

"This video, that will be watched by millions, is sending out a deadly message to young people. It is stating that homosexuality is simply another norm," McCullough said.

Some public criticism notwithstanding, Gately appeared to have found peace in his private life. His Roman Catholic parents had accepted his homosexuality four years before his public admission, he told The Sun.

Boyzone star Stephen Gately, whose body was found in a house on the Spanish resort island of Mallorca, died of natural causes, according to autopsy results released Tuesday. A post-mortem死后, 验尸 showed Gately, 33, an Irishman, died as a result of a pulmonary edema(肺水肿), or fluid in the lungs, the Balearic Islands Superior Justice Tribunal said in a statement. The court said tissue samples from the singer's body would be sent to a laboratory in Barcelona for further analysis, and that unless information contradicting the autopsy result emerged, the investigation would be closed. Spanish news reports said the two had been out drinking and that the singer had later choked on his own vomit. The house, situated on an exclusive tree-lined seafront street, overlooks a rocky bay reputed to have some of the best sunset views on Spain's favorite holiday island. Spanish police said they were called to the scene on Saturday afternoon.

Father of Palin's grandson to pose for Playgirl

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Levi Johnston is going for the ultimate exposure终极曝光 — his bare body. The 19-year-old father of Sarah Palin's grandchild will pose nude for Playgirl, his attorney said Wednesday.

To get ready for his close-up([照片、电影、录像的]特写 a close-up of her face), Johnston is training three hours a day, six nights a week at an Anchorage gym with a local body builder. A formal agreement hasn't been reached with the online magazine, but the photo shoot is a "foregone conclusion," said Johnston's attorney, Rex Butler. Johnston fathered a son with Bristol, the 18-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate who resigned as Alaska's governor in July. Publication of the photographs could be a source of embarrassment for Palin, often mentioned as a possible 2012 presidential candidate. Her memoir, "Going Rogue," will be published next month and pre-sales already have made it a national best seller.

Just after Sen. John McCain chose Palin as his running mate in August 2008, Johnston was thrust into(强行闯入, 投身于) the national spotlight when Palin abruptly announced her unwed daughter was pregnant and the couple would marry. The couple broke up after the birth of their son, Tripp, in December. The relationship between the Palins and Johnston since then has often been strained, mostly over visitation issues. Palin's representatives did not respond to a request for comment on the Playgirl job. Johnston also has been marketing himself for a possible modeling or acting career, spending time in New York and Los Angeles. His first TV commercial, hawking Wonderful brand pistachios, debuted this week. No date has been set for the Playgirl photo shoot, but Butler expects the world will get a gander of the finished product by the end of the year. Playgirl approached Johnston about posing in the buff, Butler said. Playgirl spokesman Vincent Stevens couldn't immediately be reached for comment. "We told him he would have to do what actors and actresses do," Butler said. "They get in the gym." Johnston has been working out with Marvin Jones, a former Mr. Alaska competitor who has put the teenager on a low-carb([=carbohydrate]碳), high-protein diet.

Rather loses $70 million lawsuit against CBS NEW YORK (Reuters) – A New York state appeals court on Tuesday dismissed former TV newsman Dan Rather's lawsuit against CBS Corp in which Rather claimed he was made a scapegoat替罪羊 in a scandal over a 2004 report on then-President George W. Bush's military record. The ruling by a panel of judges of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division上诉庭 said Rather's $70 million complaint should be dismissed in its entirety and that a lower court erred in denying CBS's motion to throw out the lawsuit. CBS said it considered the legal fight "effectively over" and put an end to its public dispute with one of America's most influential broadcast journalists, who followed the legendary Walter Cronkite as the CBS Evening News anchor. Rather's lawyer, Martin Gold, said he planned to appeal. Rather, 77, sued CBS, Viacom and others in September 2007, claiming he was being blamed to "pacify平息 the White House" in the wake of a scandal over a September 8, 2004, report on Bush's military record. CBS was part of Viacom until the companies split in 2006. In the story, which ran two months before the presidential election pitting Bush against Democrat John Kerry, Rather said Bush had received special treatment while serving in the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam War, The network later acknowledged that documents used in the story could not be authenticated证实 and Rather was removed as anchor of the "CBS Evening News" in March 2005 after 24 years. Rather claimed in the lawsuit, filed in New York State Supreme Court, that CBS breached his contract and its fiduciary duty in part by not giving him enough on-air assignments after he was removed as anchor. He kept reporting for the weekly news program "60 Minutes," but was dumped by CBS in June 2006 after 44 years with the network. The appeals court ruled Rather failed to sufficiently support his claim that he lost business opportunities due to CBS's failure to release him to seek other employment. Rather now produces an hour-long news program, "Dan Rather Reports," for cable channel HDNet, available to viewers with high-definition TV sets.
